If you want to learn how to build things, start a fire under water, estimate distances with your eyes closed, then Venturers will be for you. The unit, not the Leaders, determine the activities and all members get to participate in decision making and planning activities. Recent activities include constructing mini golf courses, mapping the Gundaroo Scout Hall and staging a first aid incident to help Scouts practice their first aid skills.
As a Venturer you can participate in a range of activities at the local, regional, national and international level. Bushwalks, abseiling, skiing and canoeing trips are all included in our programme. As Venturers increase in skill and confidence they undertake successively longer independent trips and are encouraged to lead activities for younger members of the scouting movement.
Murrumbateman Venturers operate under the District Venturer Unit banner within the Riverina Region.
More detailed information about becoming and being a Venturer can be found on the Scouts Australia NSW Branch website at – http://www.nsw.scouts.com.au/venturers/
