The Scout Section is open to girls and boys aged 11-15 years and aims to encourage the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people so they can reach their full potential in life, whilst having a great time.
Scouts participate in a comprehensive range of activities with an emphasis on adventurous learning, service to others, leadership and teamwork. Friends will be gained that will stay with the Scout for life.
Confidence will be built as Scouts learn how to make decisions and work as part of a team. Scouting encourages a structured method of learning, and young people can proceed along the path from participant to instructor. There are badges to be earned that display individual achievement and new skills which have been learnt.
Our Scouts enjoy an individualised, fun, adventurous and challenging program that includes:
- Bushcraft and survival skills
- Canoeing and kayaking
- Caving and abseiling
- Hiking, camping and navigation
- Air activities
- First aid training
- Community services and citizenship
- Leadership and team building challenges
When a Scout turns 15 they can continue their Scouting Journey by moving up up to the next section which is the Venturer Unit.
